Chemical name: Calcium chloride

Molecular formula: CaCl2

Nature: Odorless, slightly bitter in taste. Relative density 2.15 (25 ℃). Melting point 782 ℃. Boiling point above 1600 ℃. Highly hygroscopic, easily deliquescent when exposed to air. Easy to dissolve in water and release a large amount of heat, its aqueous solution is slightly acidic. Dissolve in alcohol, acetone, and acetic acid. Reacting with ammonia or ethanol, Cacl2 · 8NH3 and CaCI2 · 4C2H5OH complexes are formed, respectively. The precipitate that crystallizes from an aqueous solution at room temperature is usually hexahydrate. When gradually heated to 30 ℃, it dissolves in its own crystal water and gradually loses water upon further heating. At 200 ℃, it becomes dihydrate, and when heated again to 260 ℃, it becomes white porous anhydrous calcium chloride.

Purpose:

(1) Used for snow melting and de icing on roads, highways, parking lots, and docks.

(2) Desiccant: Used for drying gases such as nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, etc.

(3) Dehydrating agent: used as a dehydrating agent in the production of alcohols, esters, ethers, and acrylic resins.

(4) Refrigerant: Calcium chloride aqueous solution is an important refrigerant for refrigerators and ice making,

(5) Antifreeze: It can accelerate the hardening of concrete and increase the cold resistance of building mortar, making it an excellent building antifreeze.

(6) Used as a defogging agent and road dust collector for ports, as well as a fabric fire retardant.

(7) Used as a protective and refining agent for aluminum magnesium metallurgy.

(8) It is a precipitant used in the production of lake pigments.

(9) Used for de ink processing of waste paper.

(10) It is the raw material for producing calcium salts.

(11) Calcium chloride solution is used as a flocculant in the seaweed sodium industry and soy products industry
